Location: West Salem
Position Details
- Hiring Bonus: $10,000 (Not eligible if worked for a Performance Food Group owned company within the last 6 months)
- Start Time: 6:00‑7:00 AM until job completed
- Pay Range: $20 per hour based on experience
- Work Schedule:

Portion cut, slice and package meats/seafood to specific sizes and weights according to work order specifications and customer preferences; clean and sanitize tools ensuring safety, GMP and quality standards are met; maintain efficient flow of product through the production process. Functions as a team member within the department and organization, as required, and performs any duty assigned to best serve the company.
Responsibilities- Review work schedule, perform safety checks on equipment, obtain supplies, and prepare for operations; at shift end secure equipment and complete paperwork.
- Check cutting list, obtain stock from coolers, open cases, and dispose waste properly.
- Cut various size portions of raw meat/seafood by hand with knives using proper techniques.
- Clean and sanitize knives and tools, maintain and abide by USDA regulations and standards.
- Cut portions using band saw or slicer, check weights and place cut meat into proper tubs.
- Remove totes and tubs of scrap, place in pickup area.
- Assist packers and sanitizers as required.
- Perform general housekeeping duties, clean packaging area and equipment, maintain safety and quality regulations.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- Education:
High school diploma or GED. - Experience:
1+ year Meat Cutter Experience or butcher, chef or culinary knife skills. - Skills:
- Knowledge of portion control practices and familiarity with cuts and types of meat products.
- Ability to stand continuously for 8–10 hours; lift 10–60 lbs frequently, 60+ lbs occasionally, push/pull tubs over 100 lbs.
- Repetitive upper extremity work with frequent twisting, bending, and reaching; manual dexterity required.
- Must work in damp, cool environment (40–45 °F) with some freezer exposure and flexible schedule.
- Must pass post‑offer drug test and background check.
From $20 per hour.
