Shift: 1st Shift

Hours: 06:30 AM - 05:00 PM Monday-Thursday, OT Friday 06:30 AM - 11:00 AM

QPS Employment Group has a great opportunity available for a Machine Shop Assistant/Floater at a company in Sturtevant, WI. This is a potential to hire position for 1st shift. Apply now!

• Perform deburring and hand grinding of parts to ensure quality standards are met
• Assist in assembling components and finished products
• Operate brake press and saw equipment, with training provided as needed
• Use power tools and hand tools safely and effectively
• Verify specifications using measurement devices such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges
• Support cross‑training across different departments and processes
• Maintain a clean and organized work area, including general shop cleanup
• Follow all safety procedures and company policies
• Assist machine operators and machinists to support production flow

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in a machine shop or manufacturing environment
• Knowledge of safe use of power tools and hand tools
• Ability to read basic measurements and follow work instructions
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
• Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment and adapt to changing tasks
• Reliable attendance and a strong work ethic
• Ability to stand for extended periods
• Capable of lifting, carrying, and moving materials as needed
• Repetitive task performance ability
