Hourly Pay Rate $22.67/Hour plus $2.25/hour shift Premium.
Second Shift Position
This position requires Mandatory Over-Time.
The Robotic Cell Operator will under the supervision of the Blast/Grind Department Supervisor, perform the cleaning, preparation, and inspection of castings for shipment per written process guidelines using powered grinding and chipping tools, along with inspection criteria before packaging. Employee will be required to perform basic setup of the robotic cell. Performs all tasks ensuring safety, efficiency, and quality at all times.
What You'll Do:
- Acquire specific job process card before starting to set up the job.
- During work shift, perform duties including removing excess fins, parting lines, pads, sand, and other casting impurities, using various grind tools including cup grinders, wheel grinders, pencil grinders, air hammers, and robotic grinding.
- Basic setup, loading, operation, and minor programming of the robot.
- All grind numbers and part information are recorded by the grinder on a daily timesheet received from the supervisor. This information is done accurately and turned in daily.
- Perform individual inspections of each casting using Company inspection procedures and guidelines.
- Determine acceptability of product using process card and customer specifications.
- Perform physical testing such as BHN adequately per requirements of process card and cast date.
- Assist in the tagging and packaging of inspected product ready for shipment.
- Keep work area clear of hazards and clutter and prepare area daily for next shift.
- Know proper hooking of all castings.
- Responsible for individual time sheets daily.
- Attend daily scrap review meeting.
- Additional duties as may be required.
- Minimum of completion of the tenth (10) grade, high school.
- Must possess the ability to follow written and verbal directions.
- Must have ability to physically perform all tasks, which include the ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift fifty pounds on a regular basis.
- Must have ability to operate all tools and powered overhead cranes.
- Must be trained in all safety requirements, including hazard recognition, PPE requirements and use, and any other safety requirements for employment at Grede – Browntown.
- $1,500 Sign-On Bonus (Paid out after successful completion of 90 Days)
