Your Opportunity
Your OpportunityAs a Materials Specialist I for Greenheck Group you will support sales objectives by ensuring on-time shipping and timely distribution of materials/parts to manufacturing areas across the organization, coordinating with manufacturing personnel to identify and resolve material issues, and executing the receipt of purchased and manufactured parts and materials.
What You’ll Be Doing- Coordinate with plant scheduling, purchasing, and production supervision to identify and resolve key material issues preventing customer on time delivery and schedule attainment.
- Ensure the availability to manufacturing areas of parts and raw materials to ensure production delays do not occur, through organized stocking, labeling, and proper inventory relief of purchased and manufactured parts. Research and proactively resolve differences.
- Coordinate and execute cycle counting activities. Identify, document, and implement changes that need to be made to existing processes and procedures.
- Coordinate engineering change notices & item activity notices between all constituents (planners, product engineers, bill of materials, buyers, and business units) to ensure smooth, efficient, and timely model and component changeovers in support of business unit objectives while minimizing scrap and obsolete inventory.
- Determine optimum locations for inventory and oversee the physical storage activities while maintaining company safety and housekeeping standards.
- Coordinate stocking requirements with material specialists at other campus facilities as well as purchasing team.
- Monitor and ensure accuracy and timely receipts of inventory manufactured and purchased parts executed by hourly inventory control team members.
- Resolve quality issues involving materials.
- Identify and work with other departments to set up inventory related master data of new parts.
- Create materials, bill of materials and routings.
- Utilize object dependencies to improve routing automation.
- Modify and coordinate changes to materials, bill of materials and routings.
- Prepare and deliver shop floor paperwork related to the warehouse management and inventory management function, and operations execution. Determine what paperwork should be produced and when.
- Lead and implement continuous improvement projects.
- May develop, maintain, and distribute various inventory level reports.
- Review and adjust safety stocks accordingly.
- Assist in new and existing product development to the shop floor. This includes defining process flow and creating or updating routings, replenishment policies, capacity planning and standard operating procedures and assembly layout recommendations.
- Monitor excess project/sales order stock and excess/obsolete inventory.
- Work with material handlers to assist in resolving questions to allow for the timely entry of purchased and manufactured receipts.
- Design and implement optimized material flow systems using business process mapping methodologies such as value stream mapping to identify bottlenecks, eliminate waste, and improve material movement efficiency throughout MDC's operations.
