The Sanitation Technician operates within safety and quality standards, adhering to good manufacturing practices (GMPs) and company policies and procedures. The role requires ensuring the use of proper personal protective equipment (PPE) and meeting quality standards for sanitation, including chemical concentrations, time and temperature, cleaning times, and flow rate. The technician monitors the C.I.P. operation, ensuring cleaning is completed to specifications and documented, while effectively communicating with management regarding equipment, food safety, quality, and sanitation issues.
Responsibilities- Monitor and document C.I.P. operations to ensure cleaning meets specifications.
- Communicate effectively with management about equipment, food safety, quality, and sanitation issues.
- Assist in inventory of chemicals, cleaning supplies, and parts.
- Inspect sanitation work and follow up to ensure all standards are met for a safe start of production.
- Meet expectations and results set for the position.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
- Experience with GMP, sanitation, food safety, HACCP, and FDA regulations.
- 1-2 years of previous sanitation experience, preferably in the Food and Beverage industry.
- Ability to comply with Quality Management and Food Safety Management requirements.
- Effective communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
- Ability to prioritize workload and adapt to shifts in daily priorities.
- High attention to detail and a sense of urgency in addressing problems.
- Basic math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and averages.
- Strong interpersonal skills fostering trust, accountability, collaboration, and teamwork.
- Completion of Food Safety Training (Qualified Individual).
Skills & Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Ability to work overtime as needed.
This position operates during the 3rd shift in a food manufacturing plant environment. The noise level is moderate in the lab and requires hearing protection in the plant. The plant environment includes wet or humid conditions, moderate cold and hot temperatures, and exposure to moving mechanical parts and raw food ingredients. Compliance with food safety regulations is mandatory, and the wearing of hairnets, bump caps, and steel-toed or composite-toed shoes is required at all times.
Additional PPE such as goggles and gloves is necessary based on the ingredients and chemicals used. The company is family-owned and offers education reimbursement and a strong benefits package.
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Random Lake, WI.
Pay And BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $26.50 - $27.00/hr.
