Job Summary:The Mold Technician is responsible for the setup, startup, and troubleshooting of injection molding machines, robotics, and secondary equipment. This role performs production samples, supports Corrective and Preventative Action (CAPA) investigations, and provides mentorship and coaching of all Mold Technician levels. The position ensures consistent product quality, efficient machine performance, and adherence to production standards. Responsibilities can and will vary based on experience and skillset.

Essential JobDuties & Responsibilities:
- Set up, start, and troubleshoot a variety of injection molding machines, molds, robots, dryers, mold heat controllers, and auxiliary equipment.
- Collaborate with Quality Assurance, Engineering, and Tool Room teams to address part quality at all levels.
- Ensure molds are properly inspected, cleaned, and protected after runs; communicate issues or improvement opportunities using Maintenance Repair Orders (MROs).
- Investigate production problems, determine root cause, and recommend or implement solutions.
- Recommend and implement corrective actions to reduce scrap, improve cycle times, and support mold upgrades.
- Use problem-solving and troubleshooting tools to assess machine, tooling, personnel, and process-related issues.
- Maintain a clean, organized, tour‑ready production floor.
- Maintain a positive and respectful attitude and demonstrate reliable attendance.
- Perform all responsibilities required based on specific Mold Technician level.
- Accurately complete cycle sheets at the beginning and end of runs and during spot audits.
- Review daily product information at molding machines; monitor process parameters and part quality to minimize variation.
- Follow production schedules and maintain machines at or above Bill of Materials (BOM) rate.
- Start up and troubleshoot secondary equipment such as end mills, hot stamping, pad printing, and other related machinery.
- Participate in production sampling for New Product Design (NPD) or continuous improvement efforts.
- Participate in Material Review Board (MRB) activities as needed.
- Support Corrective and Preventative Action (CAPA) activities when required.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Successful completion of Mold Technician Levels training or equivalent experience.
- Must be mechanically inclined and able to work in a fast‑paced environment with the ability to adapt to constant changes.
- Strong understanding of mold venting, cooling circuits, draft angles, inserts, and mold steel composition.
- Experience in lean manufacturing and working in an ISO‑certified environment preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and Teams.
- Ability to work with precision tools and measuring instruments.
- Ability to read, write, and communicate clearly in English.
- Some travel may be required.
- Overhead Hoist certification.
- Pallet Jack certification.
- Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) certification.
- Experience with IQMS or other manufacturing ERP systems.
- Knowledge of material handling systems.
- Ability to clean, prep, and maintain molds for production runs.
- Medium work:
Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. - Stooping, Kneeling, Crouching, Reaching, Standing, Walking, Pushing, Pulling, Lifting, Grasping, Talking, and Hearing.
