Job Overview
PDQ Workholding & Tooling (formerly DMT Workholding) is seeking a skilled CNC machinist to manufacture parts for our world‑class fixturing and tooling. We use the latest CNC equipment and Solid Cam to program all machines, offering an opportunity to expand Solid Cam knowledge. Employees are eligible for monthly bonuses and paid vacation after 90 days, and major medical insurance after 30 days.
Responsibilities- Program CNC machines to blueprint requirements.
- Set up machines for the manufacturing process.
- Load materials into CNC machines, lifting up to 50 pounds.
- Inspect fabricated parts to ensure specifications are met.
- Clean and maintain equipment, operating multiple machines.
- Operate and support vertical machining centers (3‑, 4‑, or 5‑axis).
- Use G & M code programming and Mastercam under guidance of lead CNC machinist.
- Measure parts with calipers, micrometers, depth gauges, and other approved gauging devices.
- Notify supervisor immediately of any deviations, part specification changes, or safety issues.
- Listen for sounds indicating a malfunction.
- Document all production issues for effective communication.
- Plan stock inventory, place orders, and verify receipt.
- Maintain a clean, neat, orderly work area.
- Work safely at all times.
- 2+ years of experience operating CNC machines.
- 1+ year of programming experience.
- Proficiency with G & M code.
- Knowledge of gauging equipment such as micrometers, calipers, depth gauges.
- Team player who communicates issues to others.
- Enjoys a fast‑paced, results‑oriented manufacturing environment.
- Committed to continuous improvement principles aligned with company goals.
- Detail oriented and capable of critical thinking.
- Concentration‑heavy tasks requiring physical effort.
- Able to stand for long periods.
- Able to lift 50 pounds (cranes available).
- Must be available for flexible hours and on‑call duties as required.
- $18–$30 per hour based on experience.
- Flexible schedule and overtime (first shift).
