Maintenance Technician / Mechanic, Operations Engineer
Borregaard USA has an opening in it's Rothschild, WI Manufacturing Plant for a Maintenance Planner. This position is full-time and will be responsible for scheduling and coordinating maintenance activities to ensure safe, reliable and efficient operation of equipment in the plant.
Other responsibilities will include:
- Develop schedules, work lists, and timelines for day-to-day maintenance as well as planned outages
- Assist in the purchasing of parts and equipment as needed
- Create bill of materials (BOM’s) in SAP for plant equipment
- Plan and prioritize notifications and work orders, with the help of the plant staff, based on urgency, safety, production impact, and resource availability.
- Work with maintenance contractors and vendors as required.
- Facilitate weekly planning meetings to establish a weekly/monthly list of scheduled work with priorities and timelines
- Assist with documenting maintenance KPI’s (ex: planned vs. unplanned work, equipment breakdown frequency, equipment availability, etc.)
- Work with the storeroom clerk to implement job kitting of parts for the maintenance team
- Assist with periodic cycle counting of storeroom parts on a routine basis
- Works with maintenance team to implement and optimize a preventive maintenance program for the plant that encompasses both preventative tasks and predictive techniques using SAP
- Works with the plant staff to investigate and analyze reasons for OEE losses and implementing cost effective means for eliminating or minimizing these
- Ensure the provision of quality customer service
- Liaise with plant staff to develop work plans that align with reliability improvement targets
- Review and train on lubrication methods to prevent oil cross contamination and ensure the correct lubricants are specified for applications
- Ensure thermography program is adhered to and reports are reviewed and acted upon
The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of planning/scheduling experience in manufacturing or heavy industrial equipment utilizing CMMS. An Engineering degree or equivalent experience in the mechanical/electrical trade is preferred. Strong knowledge of maintenance best practices (preventive, predictive, reliability-centered) and excellent organization, communication and problem-solving skills are also preferred.
