We are seeking an experienced and strategic Supply Chain Manager to lead our system‑wide supply chain operations, purchasing functions, and inventory management. This role plays a critical part in ensuring our patients, providers, and teams have the supplies and resources they need—efficiently, cost‑effectively, and always with a customer‑focused approach.

The Role

The Supply Chain Manager provides leadership and oversight for Central Supply and Purchasing services across the organization. This position is responsible for setting strategic direction, developing system‑wide standards, policies, and processes, and ensuring supply chain operations support organizational goals.

As a key advisor to the senior leadership and the Board of Directors, this role leads the supply chain workforce, value analysis initiatives, vendor contracts, equipment rental programs, inventory control, and capital planning. The Manager ensures strong internal and external partnerships and represents VMH with the highest level of professionalism.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead supply chain and purchasing staff, including hiring, training, and performance evaluations.
  • Communicate regularly with associates and leadership regarding changes, initiatives, and organizational goals.
  • Oversee supply chain policies, procedures, and continuous improvement efforts.
  • Maintain monthly meetings with department leaders to review usage, reduce variance, and enhance cost effectiveness.
  • Collaborate with department leaders to develop annual capital budget requests and a 5‑year capital plan.
  • Partner with Finance to track, safeguard, and account for capital assets across the organization.
  • Serve as the main point of contact for all equipment rentals, including tracking, billing, and contract management.
  • Manage group purchasing contracts, negotiate pricing, and ensure maximized cost savings.
  • Oversee all purchasing functions in collaboration with the Purchasing department.
  • Maintain control of stockroom inventory and ensure pricing accuracy.
  • Coordinate system‑wide supply budget planning.
  • Manage new product requests, ensuring proper billing and revenue cycle coordination.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in a business‑related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years supervisory experience.
  • At least 5 years of purchasing experience in a healthcare environment is strongly preferred.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills; able to work effectively with diverse personalities.
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
  • High proficiency in computer systems and inventory management tools.
  • Demonstrated problem‑solving, analytical thinking, and attention to detail.
  • Ability to adapt quickly, manage multiple priorities, and maintain a strong customer‑service mindset.
