Full-Time | Competitive Salary + Benefits | Immediate Start Available

Overview

Are you a seasoned turf and grounds expert who thrives on the excitement of golf course construction? We're seeking a hands-on Construction Site Superintendent with heavy emphasis on maintenance to lead our golf course development/renovation project from groundbreaking through grow-in and long-term conditioning.

Responsibilities
  • Oversee daily on-site construction activities, including shaping greens, tees, bunkers, fairways, drainage systems, and irrigation installation—ensuring adherence to design specs, timelines, and budgets.
  • Lead the transition from construction to maintenance phase: coordinate grow-in operations, turf establishment, and sodding/seeding.
  • Manage irrigation systems from layout and installation through ongoing operation, repairs, and optimization (including computerized controls).
  • Supervise, train, and motivate construction and maintenance crews (full-time, seasonal, and subcontractors) to achieve high standards of quality, safety, and efficiency.
  • Coordinate equipment maintenance/repairs, inventory of materials, and compliance with environmental regulations.
  • Collaborate closely with project architects, engineers, owners, and golf professionals to deliver exceptional playing conditions and aesthetics.
  • Prepare reports, track budgets, and ensure sustainable, cost-effective operations.
Qualifications
  • Experience in golf course maintenance and/or construction supervision (prior superintendent or assistant superintendent role strongly preferred).
  • Deep expertise in turfgrass management, agronomy, soil science, fertilizer/pesticide applications, cultural practices, and integrated pest management.
  • Proven hands-on skills in irrigation system installation, troubleshooting, and maintenance.
  • Strong knowledge of golf course construction principles (e.g., drainage, bunker shaping, grow-in protocols) combined with ongoing maintenance best practices.
  • Excellent leadership and team-building abilities—able to recruit, train, schedule, and motivate crews in a fast-paced outdoor environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, irrigation software, and basic budgeting tools.
  • Passion for golf and outdoor work.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends.
