The Vice President of Construction is responsible for leading the strategic planning, execution, and delivery of large-scale data center construction projects across multiple regions. This role oversees all aspects of project development, design coordination, construction management, and commissioning to ensure on-time, on-budget, and high-quality delivery. The VP serves as the primary executive liaison between internal stakeholders, external partners, contractors, and client-driving operational excellence, safety, and innovation in mission-critical facility construction.

Key Responsibilities Strategic Leadership
  • Develop and execute the long-term vision and strategy for the Data Center Construction division.
  • Partner with executive leadership to align construction goals with business growth, operational efficiency, and client needs.
  • Drive standardization of processes, best practices, and KPIs across all construction projects.
Project Delivery & Execution
  • Oversee the planning, budgeting, scheduling, and delivery of multiple large-scale, mission-critical data center projects.
  • Lead and mentor project directors, managers, and construction teams to ensure seamless execution from pre-construction to commissioning.
  • Ensure compliance with quality, safety, sustainability, and regulatory standards.
  • Implement innovative construction technologies, delivery models, and design-build practices to optimize cost and time efficiency.
Financial & Risk Management
  • Manage divisional P&L, ensuring financial targets are met or exceeded.
  • Review and approve capital expenditure, contracts, and vendor agreements.
  • Identify risks across project portfolios and develop mitigation strategies to safeguard budgets, timelines, and deliverables.
Stakeholder & Client Engagement
  • Serve as the executive point of contact for key clients, contractors, and design partners.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with external stakeholders including developers, general contractors, engineers, and local authorities.
  • Provide executive-level reporting and project updates to senior leadership and clients.
Talent & Organizational Development
  • Recruit, develop, and retain top construction and project management talent.
  • Foster a high-performance culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Lead initiatives for diversity, equity, inclusion, and safety within construction operations.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or related field (Master’s preferred).
  • 15+ years of progressive leadership experience in large-scale construction, with at least 7 years in data center, mission-critical, or high-tech facility projects.
  • Proven track record of delivering projects exceeding $100M+ in value.
  • Strong financial management skills, including P&L oversight and capital project budgeting.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and negotiation skills.
  • Deep knowledge of construction safety standards, building codes, and regulatory requirements.
  • Experience with alternative delivery methods (e.g., design-build, EPC, CM-at-Risk).
  • Ability to travel frequently to project sites across domestic and international locations.
