Position:
Facilities Maintenance Coordinator
Summary:
The Facilities Maintenance Coordinator is responsible for the upkeep, functionality, and safety of the buildings and grounds at IKI.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Responsible for all IKI campus building and grounds maintenance.
- Conduct regular inspections of building systems (HVAC, plumbing, electrical, etc.) to identify maintenance needs.
- Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on equipment, machinery, and building infrastructure.
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests and work orders, ensuring timely resolution of issues.
- Maintain records of maintenance activities and repairs performed, including records, warranties, licenses, inspections and contracts.
- Works closely with management on executing Capital Improvement Projects.
- Effectively source local suppliers and negotiate best pricing for contracted work.
- Collaborate with management in campus aesthetics and safety.
- Enforce contractor safety program and monitor contractors onsite.
- Adhere to all safety and compliance regulations and organizational policies
- Assist in maintaining a clean and safe working environment for all employees and visitors.
- Update and manage inventory of maintenance supplies and equipment.
- Other duties as assigned
Required Skills/Abilities
- Must be available for on-call duties, emergency after-hours support or special projects.
- Ability to report to the facility during inclement weather events to maintain safe surface conditions, including clearing snow with plow, skid steer, snowblower, shovel, salt spreaders, etc.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.
- Must be able to perform maintenance tasks such as replacing lighting, ceiling tiles, painting, patching, doors, or other minor/medium projects as assigned.
- Ability to safely operate forklift, skid-steer, scissor lift, pickup truck and other equipment as assigned.
- Good organization and documentation skills.
- Accurate and legible handwriting.
- Must be able to adapt to changing priorities and be self-motivated.
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent; relevant vocational training and certifications are a plus.
- Previous experience in facility maintenance or a related field is required.
- Valid driver’s license required.
Physical Requirements:
- This position requires lifting, bending, climbing, and working in various environmental conditions.
- PPE must be worn when required and safety precautions must be followed.
