While this position is based on the working hours of 8:00am – 4:00pm, Monday-Friday, the successful candidate must be flexible and willing to work outside of normal business hours, including evenings and weekends, to address critical IT issues, perform system maintenance, and support project deadlines, as needed.

Job Overview:

As an IT System Administrator for our Shared Services division, you will be responsible for maintaining, upgrading, and managing our software, hardware, and networks across our global enterprise. Your primary goal is to ensure that our technology infrastructure runs smoothly and efficiently, meeting the needs of our international operations. This role requires a proactive individual with strong technical, problem‑solving, and communication skills who can thrive in a fast‑paced, multi‑national environment.

Essential Functions:

The System Administrator will perform essential functions critical to the stability and performance of our global IT infrastructure:

System and Infrastructure Management
  • Manage and monitor all installed systems, infrastructure, and application performance to proactively ensure the highest levels of availability and identify potential bottlenecks.
  • Install, configure, test, and maintain operating systems, application software, and system management tools.
  • Provide 2nd and 3rd level support for complex issues, liaising with vendors and other IT personnel for problem resolution.
  • Write and maintain custom scripts to increase system efficiency and reduce manual intervention time on tasks.
  • Participate in the design and implementation of information and operational support systems.
Patch Management and Hardening
  • Regularly install, test, and deploy system and security patches for all operating systems, applications, and firmware across servers, workstations, and network devices to mitigate known vulnerabilities.
  • Implement system and network hardening techniques, such as disabling unnecessary services, modifying default configurations, and using secure protocols.
Security Tool Administration
  • Install, configure, and maintain cybersecurity tools, including firewalls, Intrusion Detection/Prevention Systems (IDS/IPS), antivirus/anti-malware software, and endpoint detection and response (EDR) solutions.
  • Monitor these tools for alerts, performance issues, and ensure they are operating effectively.
Access Control and Identity Management (IAM)
  • Manage user accounts, permissions, and access rights based on the principle of least privilege, ensuring users only have the access strictly necessary for their role.
  • Configure and enforce strong authentication methods, such as Multi‑Factor Authentication (MFA), especially for administrative accounts and critical systems.
Network, Cloud, and Security
  • Manage and support System dashboards, devices, and licensing.
  • Maintain Virtual Servers hosted on cloud platforms.
  • Work with third‑party Managed Service Providers (MSP) to implement and maintain security protocols across all systems.
  • Maintain and improve onsite networks.
  • Maintain security, backup, and redundancy strategies, including monthly testing of Warehouse Wi‑Fi strength.
  • Manage network maps for all domestic and international locations.
  • Maintain email authentication records: DMARC, DKIM, and SPF.
Microsoft/End‑User Services
  • Manage and maintain Microsoft Active Directory, O365, SharePoint, Group Policies, and Shared email boxes.
  • Manage the VoIP Phone system, including call trees and holiday messages.
  • Assist with the deployment of new desktop and laptop hardware when needed.
  • Manage DNS configurations for websites, servers, and SSL certificates.
Documentation and Support
  • Document IT processes, procedures, and standards.
  • Manage and support local and remote staff across different time zones.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Preferred Experience:
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Familiarity with ITIL or other IT service management frameworks.
  • Experience with cloud services (e.g., AWS, Azure).
