The Endpoint Engineer is responsible for the design, deployment, and administration of endpoint management and security solutions across the organization’s fleet of laptops, desktops, and virtual desktop infrastructure. This includes systems running Windows, Linux, and Mac operating systems, with a primary focus on Windows. The role partners with IT and security teams to ensure device performance, security, and compliance, while also automating routine tasks to improve operational efficiency.
This position is critical to maintaining the security and functionality of the organization’s digital infrastructure.
- Design, implement, and administer endpoint management and security tools in alignment with internal policies and procedures.
- Perform system hardening and regular security assessments to detect and remediate vulnerabilities.
- Troubleshoot a broad range of endpoint-related issues using advanced knowledge and precedent.
- Stay up-to-date on evolving security threats and technologies to continuously improve endpoint security posture.
- Effectively communicate technical details to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Mentor and provide guidance to less experienced team members on technical matters.
- Participate in the planning and execution of IT infrastructure and endpoint-related projects.
- Assist in creating training materials and conducting end-user training sessions.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external service providers, including professional services and outsourcing partners.
- Education:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience. - Experience:
5–8 years of experience in endpoint engineering or a related IT security field.
- Strong experience managing endpoint security in complex enterprise environments.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Intune for endpoint management.
- Familiarity with other endpoint management tools such as Jamf, Landscape, Tanium, Absolute is a plus.
- Deep understanding of endpoint systems including:
- Configuration and compliance
- Patch management
- Application packaging
- Group Policy management
- Demonstrated experience with cross-platform endpoint management (Windows, Linux, macOS).
- Experience working in a fast-paced, high-growth organization.
- Certifications such as Microsoft Certified:
Endpoint Administrator Associate, CompTIA Security+, or equivalent are a plus but not required.
