Plant HR Manager – Cedar Rapids, Iowa

Associated Materials / Alside is transforming its manufacturing plant to maximize people, operations, and brands. This role drives HR transformation at the Cedar Rapids facility, ensuring people, process, and culture excellence.

The Human Resources Manager leads people and process transformation, partnering with plant leadership to support non‑exempt and exempt employees through employee relations, staffing, engagement, coaching, performance, workforce analysis, and compliance.

• Partner with employees and management to communicate HR policies, laws, and standards.
• Identify, investigate, and resolve employee relations issues and complex labor and human capital challenges.
• Develop and implement processes and tools that foster higher productivity and retention.
• Manage leadership team staffing and development.
• Recruit salary and hourly candidates with the Talent Acquisition team.
• Coach, counsel, and help employees and managers with promotion, termination, or disciplinary action.
• Provide analytical and project management support.
• Influence plant or organization changes and facilitate onboarding activities.
• Communicate programs and resolve issues related to payroll, benefits, and employee programs.
• Maintain employee data in HR systems.
• Actively participate in plant teams and assume HR leadership roles.
• Promote AM Values and culture and drive engagement actions for cultural improvement.
• Report monthly data for the facility.

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Human Resources, Labor Relations, Psychology, or Business Administration.
• Minimum five years of progressive HR experience with people leadership.
• Detail‑oriented with strong project management and analytical skills.
• Strong employee relations experience; positive employee relations experience a plus.
• Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication.
• Ability to work independently and complete projects in required time frames.
• Work in a fast‑paced, ever‑changing environment and be a team player.
• Experience in payroll and attendance systems (ADP) is a plus.
• Proficient in Windows, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

• Manufacturing setting experience.
• Bi‑Lingual Spanish.
• SHRM‑CP or PHR Certification a plus.
• Demonstrated strong HR business partnering skills.

Manufacturing plant and office space. Employees must wear issued personal protective equipment. Temperature ranges from extreme cold to extreme heat. Frequent use of computers, phones, and other office electronics.
