JOB SUMMARY: As an Abbey Resort associate, you will be part of an incredible team at an all-service resort located on the beautiful shores of Geneva Lake. BASIC FUNCTION: The Laundry Department Supervisor oversees daily laundry operations, ensuring high standards of cleanliness and efficiency in handling linens, terry, tablecloths, cloth napkins, and robes. Responsibilities include managing staff, maintaining equipment, and implementing best practices to ensure quality and timely service.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Previous experience in laundry operations, preferably in hospitality.
• Strong leadership and team management skills.
• Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
• Knowledge of laundry equipment and chemicals, including safety procedures.
• Ability to lift heavy loads and perform physically demanding tasks.
• Strong communication skills and a customer service mindset.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Supervise and coordinate daily laundry staff activities, including training new staff.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety standards, and hotel policies.
• Monitor laundry processes: sorting, washing, drying, ironing, and folding.
• Maintain inventory of laundry supplies and equipment; report needs to the Housekeeping Manager.
• Inspect laundry equipment regularly and report repairs or maintenance needs.
• Collaborate with housekeeping and other departments for seamless service.

MARGINAL FUNCTIONS:

• Address and resolve laundry service issues or complaints promptly.
• Interact effectively with diverse socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds.
• Perform other tasks as assigned.
• Work hours may vary based on business needs, including holidays, weekends, and overtime.
• Perform duties as requested by the Housekeeping Supervisor or Manager.

ENVIRONMENT: Indoor work on hard and carpeted surfaces, occasional outdoor work, well-ventilated with artificial lighting.
