JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Looking for Rewarding Weekend Work? Spend your weekend making a real difference with me! I'm a young adult living with autism, and I'm looking for a Weekend Companion & Activity Support Person to spend time with me on the weekends, offering friendly companionship and light support while we get out and enjoy the community together. This is a direct hire position you'll be working directly with me and my family, not through an agency.
That means more personal connection, more flexibility, and a supportive environment where your time is truly appreciated. Community Horizons is assisting me with the recruitment process for this self-directed care opportunity, but you will work directly for me. Whether you're a student, retiree, caregiver, or just someone looking for meaningful part-time weekend hours, this could be a great fit.
Schedule Weekends:
Friday, Saturday, and/or Sunday. Up to 9 hours per weekend. I'm flexible—let's work together to create a schedule that works for both of us. Even if you only have a few hours on one day, I'd love to talk. Pay $15.00/hour. $.35/mile reimbursement for outings.
- Driving me to and from activities in the community
- Providing supervision and friendly company while we're out
- Assisting with my prescribed medications
- Giving gentle reminders for personal care
- Preparing meals or supporting me with meals that meet my dietary needs
- You're active and enjoy being on the go
- You're not easily intimidated
- You know about seizures or are willing to learn
- You're familiar with Autism
- You have a valid driver's license and a reliable vehicle
- You're comfortable around pets and don't have allergies
- You're friendly and enjoy spending time with others
- Bowling
- Movies
- Shopping trips, especially to thrift stores
- Biking and outdoor rides
- Tinkering in the garage
