JOB SUMMARY
This position is responsible for the preparation and analysis of feed and forage and plant tissue samples. This position will run the feed route on an alternating schedule to pick up samples. They will also log samples in, dry and grind feed/plant tissue samples, dish samples for NIR scanning, and will assist in reporting feed/tissue results. This person may also assist in other areas of the Stratford lab as needed.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES- Running daily route
- Preparation of feed and tissue samples
- Operate feed grinders and electronic balance machines
- NIR analysis of forage samples
- Assist in reporting feed and plant tissue results
- Packaging and shipping of samples going to other labs for testing
- Assist in maintaining equipment in the feed lab
- Assist in maintaining physical properties of the lab
- Perform regular scheduled maintenance on equipment
- Maintaining good customer service and relations
- Other duties as assigned by the Supervisor
- High School Diploma or GED
- Associate’s Degree (Agriculture or Chemistry related) preferred
- Previous experience in an agricultural field is preferred
- Valid driver’s license and good driving record that meets our insurance company requirements
