Job Summary
The Firefighter/Paramedic plays a critical role in emergency response, providing both fire suppression and advanced medical care. This position requires a dedicated individual who can work effectively under pressure, respond to emergencies promptly, and deliver high-quality patient care. The Firefighter/Paramedic will be responsible for protecting life and property while ensuring the safety of the community.

Duties

• Respond to emergency calls for fire suppression, rescue operations, and medical emergencies.
• Perform advanced life support procedures, including administering medications and managing airway emergencies.
• Conduct patient assessments and monitor vital signs to provide appropriate care.
• Operate firefighting equipment and vehicles, ensuring readiness for immediate response.
• Participate in training exercises to maintain skills in firefighting techniques and emergency medical services.
• Maintain equipment and apparatus in good working condition through regular inspections and maintenance.
• Assist with public education programs related to fire safety and emergency preparedness.
• Collaborate with other emergency services personnel to ensure effective communication and teamwork during incidents.

Qualifications

• EMT experience is preferred;
  Wisconsin Paramedic license is required.
• Proficiency in first aid, Advanced Life Support (ALS), and CPR techniques.
• Mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot and maintain firefighting equipment.
• Ability to perform heavy lifting as required during rescue operations or equipment handling.
• Strong communication skills to interact effectively with team members, patients, and the community.
• Ability to remain calm under pressure and make quick decisions in emergency situations. Candidates should possess a strong commitment to serving the community with integrity, professionalism, and compassion.
