The Role

We are seeking a compassionate, dedicated professional to join our team as a Substance Use Disorder Counselor
. In this role, you will work directly with clients to assess needs, create personalized treatment plans, and provide counseling to support recovery from substance use and co-occurring disorders.

What You’ll Do
  • Provide individual and group counseling for clients struggling with substance use disorders.
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments to develop individualized treatment plans and goals.
  • Offer crisis intervention and support to clients in need.
  • Educate clients and their families about substance use, recovery, and relapse prevention.
  • Monitor client progress, maintain accurate documentation, and provide regular reports.
  • Ensure compliance with all ethical and legal guidelines in substance abuse counseling.
  • Maintain confidentiality and uphold client privacy rights.
What It Takes
  • Degree in a Human Services related field or equivalent preferred.
  • Substance Use Disorder Counselor Certification preferred (SAC, CSAC).
  • Minimum of one year of applicable experience required.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification required.
  • Maintain a valid state of Wisconsin Driver’s License, and ability to operate a company vehicle.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, including excellent interviewing and assessment skills in delivering trauma informed care and motivational interviewing.
  • Knowledge and solid working understanding of human growth and behavior, addictions, recovery and co-occurring disorders.
  • Knowledge and solid working understanding of current social and economic problems of mental illness, homelessness, poverty, alcohol and other drug addictions, and developmental disabilities.
