The MRI technologist works under the direction of a Radiologist to perform MRI procedures at a technical level not requiring constant supervision for the technical detail. The technologist assumes responsibility for the safety of patients and colleagues in their designated work area and takes corrective action when necessary to maintain such safety.
Responsibilities- Perform MRI procedures under radiologist direction.
- Ensure patient and colleague safety.
- Take corrective actions when necessary to maintain safety.
- Satisfactory completion of at least one of the following AMA approved programs:
- Radiologic Technology program
- Nuclear Medicine program
- Diagnostic Ultrasound program
- Radiation Therapy Program

Required:
None - Preferred/Optional:
Two years’ experience in any field of Diagnostic Imaging. Experience in cross-section anatomy preferred.
- At least one in the following areas: ARRT Certification in Radiology, ARRT Certification in Radiation Therapy, ARRT Certification in Nuclear Medicine, CNMT certification or ARDMS Ultrasound certification with eligibility for MRI certification.
- Must apply for MRI Certification within one year of employment and must obtain certification within two years of employment.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification awarded by the American Heart Association (AHA) within three months of hire.
