Fox Crossing is located in the northeast corner of Winnebago County, neighboring the cities of Neenah, Menasha and Appleton. Fox Crossing has enjoyed steady growth for many years and is presently one of the largest villages in Wisconsin with a 2024 population estimate of 19,285. Fox Crossing has a service area of 14.12 square miles that includes two major highways that intersect within our boundaries.

The Fox Crossing Police Department has 31 sworn officers, including several specialized assignments. Some of these assignments include Detective, School Resource Officer, Community Liaison Officer, Drug Investigator, SWAT, K-9 Handler, Field Training Officer, Drug Recognition Expert, Honor Guard, and Crash Team Investigator.

The purpose of this position is to protect and serve the citizens while enforcing the laws of the State of Wisconsin and municipal ordinances of the Village of Fox Crossing. The work is performed under the direction of the patrol lieutenant.

Lateral entry for officers who have a minimum two (2) years of patrol officer experience concurrent to the hire date.

• Patrol the streets, highways, and public areas of the community.
• Investigate traffic accidents.
• Enforce state statutes, local ordinances, and traffic laws.
• Administer aid to persons injured until First Responder or ambulance personnel arrive.
• Respond to and investigate all incidents assigned.
• Arrest or refer persons who violate State statutes or Village ordinances.

• Prepare reports for processing.
• Prepare all additional forms and paperwork as required by policy.
• Testify in court when summoned.
• Check homes of citizens on vacations
• Complete security checks of businesses

While the following tasks are necessary for the work of the unit, they are not an essential part of the purpose of this position and may also be performed by other unit members.

• Assist other Village departments or other law enforcement agencies when requested.
• Assist citizens with vehicle lockouts when possible.

• Applicant must have a minimum of 60 college credits from an accredited university or technical college
• Applicant must be a citizen of the United States
• Applicant must be eligible for Wisconsin Law Enforcement Standards Board Certification
• Applicant must have a valid driver’s license and a good driving record
• Applicant must be at least 18 years of age
• Applicant must be able to possess a firearm, no felony convictions, no domestic abuse convictions
• Applicant must be able to give credible testimony in a court of law

• React quickly and effectively to stressful situations
• Ability to perform all essential functions of this position
• Ability to use all standard law enforcement equipment
