New Glarus, Highway Branch. This position is responsible for the collection and tracking of all the Bank’s borrowers/guarantors required financial information to support new and ongoing extensions of credit. Accountable for performing an in-depth analysis of this data, as well as an assessment of current or changing borrower/guarantor risks. Through a defined internal process, reviews on an ongoing basis each assigned credit file’s underwriting documentation for compliance to the Bank’s Loan Policy and regulations and ensures the Bank’s collateral position is properly denoted.

This position supports lenders with proper loan structuring and underwriting documentation, Loan Committee approvals (write-ups) and annual reviews of existing credits. The Credit Analyst must have a working understanding of the Bank’s core loan system, and a strong knowledge of credit supporting systems, such as the Bank’s spread and tickler tracking software, flood certification website, Credit Bureau provider, WDFI’s UCC name/lien searches, etc.

Responsibilities
  • Collect and analyze information that reflects the current credit worthiness of existing and new loan customers, including credit bureau reports, financial reports, cash flow analysis and ratio analysis. On an ongoing basis primary employee to monitor the merits of existing credit extensions
  • Prepare necessary disclosures in accordance with regulatory requirements, including content and timing. Help promote a culture of regulatory compliance and safe and sound financial practices
  • Follow security, compliance, internal control procedures, policies, and laws. Complete financial spreads and credit scoring for all business loans
  • Support and assist lenders in proper loan structuring, underwriting, and respective Loan Committee approvals (write-ups). Upon approval and request from lender, responsible for the completion of commitment letters
  • Prepare and send out letter requests for required customers’ financial data, and ensure current data is imaged into the Bank’s imaging system and old data is removed per the Bank’s record retention policy
  • Demonstrate an expert level understanding of the loan policy
  • Participate in business calls and/or customer meetings with loan officers
  • Prepare the formal engagement letter to order an appraisal or evaluation. Complete a documented review of all Appraisals and Evaluations upon receipt for accuracy and completeness
  • Serve as the primary contact with Bankers Bank for all Business Credit Card applications and questions
  • Monitor covenants, tracking compliance, submission of required reports, and follow-up work for loans with government guarantees or special bank loan agreement covenants
  • Underwrite credit, negotiate terms with lead bank, and monitor loan participations purchased. Mirror lead bank file documentation and follow the approval protocol
  • Assist Sr. Vice President / Chief Credit Officer in preparing reports for lenders, Loan Committee, Board, examiners, and/or auditors, as assigned
  • Ensure all work in the credit area and other areas follows established policies and operating procedures
  • Promote bank products and services by identifying customer needs and facilitating transactions with the appropriate team member
  • Address customer inquiries and maintain a commitment to premium service
  • Continue to develop skills in product knowledge, documentation, selling and general banking through in-house training and industry resources
  • Be a team player and maintain a positive work atmosphere; uphold high ethical standards
  • Support the Bank’s Community Reinvestment Act (CRA) efforts
Required Skills/Abilities
  • Aptitude to present information and respond to questions from a wide range of constituents
  • Ability to perform arithmetic operations and analyze financial data; proficiency with spreadsheets and statistical interpretation
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
  • Ability to interpret varied instructions and adapt to changing situations
