Extension is seeking a Controller for a DIRECT HIRE opportunity with one of our clients located in Hartland, WI.

We are seeking a proactive, hands-on Controller to lead the accounting and finance function across multiple business entities, including manufacturing operations, rental properties, and a retail venture. This is a solo role with high visibility and impact, ideal for someone who thrives in a dynamic, entrepreneurial environment.

Key Objectives / Role Responsibilities

• Full-Scope Accounting: Manage all accounting activities including general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, bank reconciliations, and month-end/year-end close.
• Financial Reporting & Analysis: Prepare accurate financial statements and reports; analyze performance trends and provide actionable insights.
• Budgeting & Forecasting: Develop and maintain budgets and forecasts to support strategic planning and operational decision-making.
• Cost Management: Identify and evaluate cost-saving opportunities; present recommendations constructively and professionally.
• Systems & Process Improvement: Drive modernization of accounting processes, including transitioning from manual systems to more efficient digital tools.
• Multi-Entity Oversight: Handle financial operations for multiple business units, including manufacturing, real estate holdings, and a retail location.
• Benefits Coordination: Oversee payment of health insurance and other benefit-related expenses.
• Expense Management: Review and process expense reports; coordinate with leadership on approvals.
• Stakeholder Collaboration: Communicate effectively with ownership and leadership, balancing financial insight with cultural alignment.

Desired Skills & Qualifications

• The ideal candidate will have a background in manufacturing; experience with JobBOSS and Quick Books is highly preferred.
• Minimum requirement:
  Bachelor’s degree in Accounting. CPA is a plus but not required.

This is an onsite position located in Hartland, WI.

No payroll processing is required.

The role does not include direct reports; this is a solo contributor position.

Salary Information

• $90,000-$130,000
