As a Manufacturing Engineer you will be providing engineering support for assigned operations department(s). You will document and standardize processes to improve throughput and quality. Disposition non-conforming product and take steps to prevent recurrence. Perform timestudies and find cost justifiable ways to eliminate waste in production processes with the overall goal of reducing cost. Participate in and/or lead projects that can include plant layout, ergonomic analysis, capital equipment justification / purchase, and/or safety improvement.
ResponsibilitiesThis list of duties and responsibilities is not all inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities, as deemed necessary.
- Generate process documentation (standard work) at production launch. Maintain existing documentation.
- Review and disposition non-conforming product and participate in the corrective action process.
- Drive and/or participate in product / process improvements.
- Collaborate and act as a liaison between the shop floor and the sales group.
- Perform audits as required.
- Produce material that can be used for training and/or process standardization.
- Participate in project teams handling assigned tasks.
- Implement cost reduction measures as assigned with oversight.
- Learn about new technologies and/or equipment.
- Troubleshoot existing processes to improve quality and/or productivity.
- Develop and implement rework processes to convert non-conforming product to conforming product.
- Participate in the Design for Manufacturing and/or DPAR process
- Perform basic manufacturing feasibility review, determining if it is possible to manufacture a given part with MEC's given equipment.
- Participate in project teams handling assigned tasks, supervising portions of projects, and follow up on tasks assigned to others.
Bachelor's degree (B.S.) in Engineering, preferably Industrial or Mechanical from a four-year college or university and 5-7 years related experience and/or training in principles of engineering; or equivalent combination of education and experience preferably in a metal fabrication environment.
