Position OverviewProvide technical leadership and design of electrical controls and PLC programming of a diverse range of custom automated systems. The systems include electrical, hydraulic, mechanical, and measurement components such as:
- PLC and ladder logic programming
- Human-machine interface (HMI) and programming
- AC motor controls (contractors, variable speed drives)
- Hydraulic and pneumatic components
- Electro-mechanical components
- Pressure Transducers, Temperature Transmitters, Flow Meters, Level Sensors, Encoders
- Proximity sensors, Relays, Push buttons
- Machine Safety components:
Safety Controllers, Light Curtains, Scanners, Guard Door Switches
- Design electrical control systems for custom machines, with experience in PLC and HMI programming (Allen-Bradley or Siemens preferred)
- Lead and communicate effectively with multidisciplinary teams
- Develop control concepts to meet customer requirements and prepare quotations
- Estimate costs related to design, programming, hardware, and commissioning
- Proficiency in AutoCAD Electrical or SOLIDWORKS Electrical; experience with SOLIDWORKS Electrical preferred
- Collaborate with project teams and clients to review and refine designs
- Support during design and build phases, providing technical guidance and problem-solving
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- Ability to follow directions from project managers and communicate effectively
Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering
Experience- At least 8 years in electrical controls design for custom systems
- At least 5 years in PLC programming
- Hydraulics knowledge and wire harness design experience are preferred
- Familiarity with CE and UKCA requirements is a plus
