The expansion of the Engineering Department means we are now looking to recruit new Utilities & piping engineering manager and reporting to the Project Manager Lead .

  • Can you develop a detailed design for piping engineering?
  • Can you manage a large budget and a complex schedule?

As Utilities & piping engineering manager
, you would be managing all utilities & piping aspects of the project at both design level with the design team, and at project level with the project execution team. You would be responsible for overseeing the utilities & piping Engineering, Design and Procurement (incl. underground infrastructures). You will follow-up contracts during construction works and commissioning phases until final acceptance.

What you’ll be doing:
  • Accountable for successful and safe utilities & piping works delivery in terms of budget, schedule and quality.
  • Closely collaborates with the Project Manager in providing overall project.
  • Manages the interface between the design, procurement and construction teams.
  • Identifies key project risks and appropriate mitigation strategies. Communicates progress and key issues with KI management.
  • Organizes and leads meetings, to be conducted weekly, amongst project management from KI and utilities & piping contractors.
  • Organizes appropriate design documentation archive, including numbering, revisions, etc.
  • Ensures the Engineering design integrity in each Project area, ensuring the correct application of Contract requirements, KI technical specifications and corporate and Project procedures.
  • Leads technical meetings such as PIDs, design, underground systems review.
  • Facilitates and expedites the Technical Clarifications and Waivers regarding utilities & piping engineering matters.
  • Project safety leader, contributing actively for the project HSE performance.
  • Helps establish the project procurement strategy for each package and takes a lead role in the management of the procurement process.
  • Responsible to deliver the project to the agreed schedule with the stakeholders.
  • Drives a risk-based process to identify where potential quality issues may arise either due to complex scope or skill gaps with the project team. Raises and addresses these issues early in the project and develops appropriate mitigation measures.
What we’d love for you to have:
  • An academic degree in major studies in mechanical, or process engineering.
  • 5 to 10 years of experience in the engineering and/or project management of large Capital Investment Projects (€10-50M).
  • Experience with tools such as AutoCAD and Naviswork.
  • Excellent command of MS Project and MS Office – ability to produce reports.
  • Great people management skills – interaction with a multidisciplinary team.
  • Outstanding negotiation skills – experience in negotiating contracts.
  • Good communication and presentation skills.
  • Scheduling and planning experience.
  • Ability to actively resolve conflicts.
  • Proficiency in English language (verbally & written), additional language is an advantage.
  • The capacity to travel up to 30% of the time.
