POSITION SUMMARY: This position is responsible for daily operations and maintenance of wind turbines. This will require extensive travel throughout the US. The candidate must have a “safety first” attitude with an understanding of doing the job right the first time.

PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Promote and comply with all company and safety policies and procedures.
  • Work in and around wind turbines, including climbing towers daily.
  • Interact professionally with customers and coworkers.
  • Prioritize safety in all tasks.
  • Install, inspect, maintain, operate, and repair wind turbines.
  • Diagnose and resolve issues to prevent unexpected shutdowns or malfunctions.
  • Perform routine maintenance and troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, or electrical problems.
  • Service transmission systems, substations, and fiber optic systems.
  • Replace worn or malfunctioning components.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Active or ability to obtain a TWIC card.
  • Technical degree or certificate in wind energy or related field preferred.
  • At least one year of experience working with wind turbines, troubleshooting, and preventative maintenance.
  • Experience with basic power and hydraulic tools.
  • Valid Driver’s License; CDL preferred.

PREFERRED SKILLS/ABILITIES:

  • Commitment to health and safety, following Zero Injury principles.
  • Ability to interpret technical documents and schematics.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Mathematical proficiency.
  • Ability to follow instructions precisely.
  • Knowledge of hydraulic tools, rotor lockout, and using chain hoists.
  • Attention to detail, basic computer skills, and ability to read drawings.
  • Physical ability to climb ladders, work at heights, and in demanding weather conditions.
  • Maintain necessary certifications (First Aid, CPR, Tower Climb & Rescue, LOTO, Arc Flash).

Physical Requirements:

  • Must pass a physical exam if required.
  • Climb ladders, work at heights, lift up to 50 lbs., and work in various physical conditions.

Work Location:

  • Industrial sites and fabrication shops.

Environmental Conditions:

  • Outdoor work with exposure to extreme weather, noise, and potential chemical hazards.
