Overview
The Staff Educator at Vernon Health supports high-quality patient care and organizational excellence by assessing learning needs, delivering education, and developing programs for staff and the community. This role contributes to a culture of safety and continuous learning to provide the best support for our patients, staff and community.
Education and Outreach- Collaborates closely with leaders and healthcare professionals to determine staff development needs and coordinate quarterly education that supports competency, compliance, and quality initiatives.
- Administrate, teach and certify staff and community members in BLS, CPR, AED, First Aid, and Safe Sitter courses, ensuring compliance with recognized and training and regulatory standards and organizational requirements.
- Assists to designs, delivers, and evaluates community health education programs, representing the organization in schools, community organizations, and public outreach events.
- Supports the ongoing build-out, enhancement, and maintenance of the organization’s Learning Management System.
- Uploads, organizes, and updates courses, competencies, certifications and educational materials within the LMS.
- Collaborate with departments to ensure training content is accurate, accessible, and aligned with organizational needs.
- Monitors LMS data to track compliance, identify trends, and improvements to learning and operational workflows.
- Helps optimize the user experience for staff by improving navigation, clarity, and ease of access to required learning, policies, procedures and resources.
- Hours:
Flexible daytime hours, Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.; 48 hours per bi-weekly pay period (0.6 FTE); occasional adjustments to the schedule may be required to support classes, staff training needs, or community education events. - Wage:
Minimum start wage of $25.96 per hour, with increases based on experience. - Comprehensive Benefits Package Includes:

- The ideal Staff Educator will have a strong clinical background and demonstrated experience in adult learning principles and curriculum development.
- Commitment to improving patient care, enhancing staff competency, and supporting continuous learning throughout the organization.
- AHA instructor certification preferred (BLS, CPR, AED), but willing to train the right candidate who demonstrates strong teaching ability and interest in certification.
