Assists in the recruitment, admissions and enrollment of youth into the Job Corps Program.
Major Duties and Responsibilities- Ensure the OA contractual goal is met during the appraisal period and maintain individual OA ratings at or above 100%.
- Establish a corrective action plan to address any measures below 100%.
- Attend and actively participate in OMS meetings and achieve 100% overall according to the monthly OAOMS report card.
- Support center functions and activities by participating in committees.
- Develop and maintain the Area Marketing Plan for each county on the AMP spreadsheet and coordinate the One-Stop Centers to maintain Job Corps presence, updated materials, and target recruitment (females, ELL, etc.).
- Collaborate closely with the Business Community Liaison and Work Based Learning Coordinator on outreach activities and center functions such as the CID and CRC.
- Access, verify, and document applicant eligibility in strict accordance with PRH guidelines and support all on-center measures in regard to OMS, fully supporting the center’s OBS capacity and student employee retention.
- Adhere to PRH requirements and maintain integrity in all work to meet the standards of ROCA, COCA, and OIG.
- Ensure assigned S/Es receive specific, accurate information about the center prior to arrival, act as S/E mentor, and support progress and success in the program.
- Maintain budget as described by the Administration/Finance Department.
- Sound working knowledge of outreach techniques.
- Demonstrated skills in identifying and evaluating the emotional needs of young adults.
- Ability to quickly learn Job Corps methodologies.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Meticulous documentation/recording skills and attention to detail; excellent time management skills.
- Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others in a wide variety of circumstances related to student services.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Strong analytical skills in interpreting data related to student programming.
- Computer literate with emphasis on Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, and Outlook.
- Bachelor’s degree in human services, psychology, counseling, education, social science, communications, or closely related field; or
- Associate’s degree in human services, psychology, counseling, education, social science, communications, or closely related field, and two years related experience.
- Experience may include successful Job Corps outreach and admissions experience or successful outreach and admissions experience with other youth development programs.
- 1 year experience in working with youth, sales, marketing, or counseling related services.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
