Prepress Technician

This is a full-time, on-site role for a Prepress Technician located in Greenville, WI. The Prepress Technician will be responsible for preparing files for print production, reviewing and resolving any preflight and pre-press issues, and ensuring files meet required specifications. This role will also be involved in the plate making process. The role also involves collaborating with the design and production teams to ensure the quality and accuracy of graphics and printed materials.

Additional responsibilities include troubleshooting print production issues and maintaining effective communication with team members.

• Prepare artwork and database files for offset print, digital print, large format, and digital flexible packaging printing.
• Modify electronic customer-supplied art files, making color, text, and digital image corrections to assure proper format, appearance, and layout per job details and press specifications.
• Analyze customer files for fonts, images, integrity, printability, or any other possible production concerns.
• Follows standard operating procedures for the use of graphic programs to generate a proof, template layout, typesetting, copy changes, digital image corrections, color separation, basic trapping and ink lay down order to produce optimized art files.
• Produce high quality printing press plates using CTP
• Incorporates all press specifications in files including marks, registration, gain curves, and profiles to achieve press matches.
• Verifies quality of layout prints, proofs, and files by evaluating spelling, content, and prepress standards with consistency across brands and projects.
• Work directly with the Project Coordinator/Sales through initial file, proof, and output to plate

• Working knowledge of Pre-Press imposition workflow software, along with the Adobe Suite products (InDesign, Illustrator, Acrobat Pro, Photoshop), Fujifilm XMF Workflow & HP Smartstream
• Knowledge of color separations, screens, dot gain, and resolution
• Knowledge about offset printing, flexographic printing, digital printing, foil stamping, large format, mailing, packaging.
• Experience with variable data, mail lists and data merge a plus
• Be organized and able to plan, prioritize and follow through on projects assigned with minimal supervision.
