The Planning Specialist is a professional who plays a crucial role in developing and implementing strategies to achieve organizational goals. Their responsibilities are key to supporting the operations planning and scheduling team.
ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES- Execute planning report based on direction from Material Planner.
- Assist in expediting and de-expediting work orders and purchase orders.
- Release work orders and purchase orders to preferred/approved suppliers.
- Collaborate with purchasing in the evaluation of current/approved suppliers.
- Maintain positive communications with internal/external “customers” for raw materials, finished goods, supplies, and services (Customer Service, Suppliers, Inter-plant, operations, etc.).
- Manage inbound and outbound shipments with suppliers and internal traffic department.
- Assure proper approval, accounting, and processing controls are maintained.
- Review and close work orders.
- Inventory and interplant receiving.
- Manage material issues to work order.
- Inventory counting.
- Manage/prepare shipment information.
- Prepare metric data and daily information reports.
- Prepare shop packets.
- Involvement in continual improvement efforts.
- Various administrative duties and JD Edwards/supporting system transaction processing.
- All other duties as assigned.
- High School or GED required, Associates degree in operation/supply chain or business preferred.
- At least one year of experience in a manufacturing facility, preferred.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to handle simultaneous tasks under pressure.
- Analytical and math skills.
- Familiarity and working knowledge of quality systems.

- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Sense of self accountability.
- High level of professionalism.
Proficient in Microsoft Office (especially pivot tables, x lookups , etc. )
