A maintenance operative carries responsibility for the domestic repairs & maintenance upkeep of the premises, minor projects within the site complex and all compliance needed for the running of the site.

• Ensure the environment is safe, welcoming, clean, hygienic and well repaired.
• Maintain high professional standards of record keeping and reporting.
• Participate in and undertake regular audits of the quality systems.
• Inspect and address works from contractors that are below required standard.
• Ensure compliance with national regulations and inspection standards.
• Manage the workload for maintenance and provide proactive works.
• Liaise with the Regional Facilities Manager on larger projects.
• Identify improvement projects to enhance image, functionality, operational or educational efficiency.
• Ensure projects completed within the programme and contractors leave facilities in good condition.
• Manage the upkeep of the grounds.

• Building and maintenance knowledge.
• Experience with compliance and record keeping.
• Trade background preferred but not essential.
• Enhanced DBS and reference checks required.
