Metrology​/Quality Engineer

My client is a well‑known, privately‑owned supplier of innovative engineering concepts based in the heart of rural Fenland. As part of their commitment to maintaining the reputation they have developed for high standards in quality and testing, they are seeking a highly skilled Quality Engineer specialising in Metrology / Industrial CT to join their dynamic team. The successful candidate will play a critical role in ensuring the precision and accuracy of dimensional measurement systems, including industrial Zeiss Metrotom CT scanning and QCT CMM inspection, supporting quality processes, and maintaining compliance with industry and regulatory standards.

This position offers an excellent opportunity for a technically driven professional with strong GD&T expertise, advanced metrology capability, and customer‑facing experience within a manufacturing or engineering environment.

• Develop, implement, and maintain metrology and industrial CT inspection procedures to ensure measurement accuracy and consistency across production and supplier processes
• Independently run and program industrial CT scanning systems (e.g. ZEISS Metrotom / ZEISS Inspect Professional software) for dimensional inspection and defect analysis of manufactured parts
• Program, operate, and maintain CMM / QCT systems to generate inspection reports and support quality and project requirements
• Interpret and apply GD&T standards to complex component drawings, ensuring accurate inspection strategies and measurement methodologies
• Conduct detailed analysis of inspection and measurement data to identify trends, discrepancies, and opportunities for continuous improvement
• Maintain accurate and auditable inspection records, calibration logs, inspection documentation, and customer compliance reports
• Act as a technical interface with customers and suppliers, providing professional feedback on inspection results, nonconformances, and quality requirements

Ideally you will have a minimum of 3 years in a similar role and environment, and be able to provide evidence of a skill set suitable for the role. Qualified to at least HNC in an engineering subject is essential, or equivalent. Proven experience in quality engineering / metrology, with a strong focus on industrial CT scanning, CMM operation, and dimensional inspection.

The ability to demonstrate how to independently program ZEISS Inspect Professional software and QCT CMM for metrology and customer‑driven inspection activities is also preferred. As a person you will possess strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex measurement and inspection data accurately, you will have good commercial awareness with the ability to communicate confidently and professionally with customers and suppliers.
