Field Service Representative

Field Service Representative 100% (f/m/d) – Burckhardt Compression AG
• Winterthur, CH

Your daily contribution:

• Perform global field service activities in the oil & gas sector
• Carry out mechanical installation of reciprocating compressors and auxiliary systems
• Execute commissioning and start‑up procedures for compressor plants
• Conduct preventive and corrective maintenance on compressor systems
• Manage large‑scale site operations, including new installations, overhauls, modifications, and system revamps
• Undertake marine assignments, primarily on gas carriers, during dry‑dockings, port stays, and sea voyages
• Diagnose and repair reciprocating compressors and auxiliary systems
• Collaborate closely with the Project Manager and Technical Support team to meet project deadlines and quality standards
• Ensure timely completion of all required project documentation and reporting

• Apprenticeship in the mechanical field
• Preferably gained experience on rotating equipment and have worked a few years in an industrial environment or in a comparative hands‑on/ field service work
• Strong analytical and organizational skills, a high degree of independence and the ability to communicate and convince in technical discussions with customers and colleagues
• Passion for customer focus, possess a flexible and positive attitude and the ability to deal with people of different nationalities
• Ability to read and understand mechanical drawings and piping and instrumentation diagrams
• Good command of English (oral & written) is a must; knowledge of any other language is an asset
• 90% of your working time is abroad. This calls for willingness to stay overseas on long‑term projects, with a period of assignment of a few months
