Responsibilities
  • Prepare a variety of baked goods.
  • Decorate and present pastries and baked goods in a tasteful and beautiful way.
  • Monitor and order ingredients, supplies, and equipment.
  • Meet with customers to discuss custom-made desserts or baked goods for special occasions.
  • Ensure the bakery section of the kitchen adheres to health and safety regulations.
  • Identify staffing needs, help to recruit new personnel, and train them.
  • Prepare a wide variety of goods such as cakes, cookies, pies, bread etc. following traditional and modern recipes.
  • Create new and exciting desserts to renew our menus and engage the interest of customers.
  • Decorate pastries using different icings, toppings etc. to ensure the presentation will be beautiful and exciting.
  • Monitor stocks for baking ingredients such as flour, sugar etc. and make appropriate orders within budget.
  • Check quality of material and condition of equipment and devices used for cooking.
  • Guide and motivate pastry assistants and bakers to work more efficiently.
  • Maintain a lean and orderly cooking station and adhere to health and safety standards.
Skills
  • Provide high-level customer service, communicate effectively with guests and team members, follow instructions, ability to learn quickly, pay attention to detail, and maintain composure when working under pressure
Technical Skills
  • Safe and appropriate use and operation of kitchen equipment
  • Dessert decorating
  • Speed in production while ensuring high-quality items
Experience / Education
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience; high school diploma and/or equivalent work experience; experience with receiving orders and inventory control helpful;
    Culinary Arts education preferred;
    Serve-Safe Certification and Allergy Awareness Training preferred.
