Position: Data Engineer
Salary: $100,000-$115,000 + Bonus

Summary of the Data Engineer: The Data Engineer will design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines and platforms that support enterprise reporting, analytics, and data‑driven decision‑making. This role works closely with IT, data, and business teams to ensure data is accurate, accessible, secure, and ready for use across the organization.

Key Responsibilities Of The Data Engineer
- Support and enhance the Enterprise Data Warehouse, ensuring reliable and accurate data flows.
- Design and implement on‑prem or cloud‑based data platforms, integrating enterprise data sources.
- Build and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines to ingest, transform, and optimize data.
- Develop and maintain data models for reporting, analytics, and advanced use cases (AI/ML).
- Implement data governance, quality, security, and compliance best practices.
- Enable self‑service analytics and real‑time data processing using modern data technologies.
- Collaborate with IT, analytics, and business teams to translate data needs into technical solutions.
- Mentor junior team members and contribute to data architecture and modernization initiatives.
Preferred Experience Of The Data Engineer
- Degree in Information Systems, Data Science, or related field.
- 5+ years of experience in data engineering, data architecture, or related roles.
- Strong experience with Azure‑based data platforms and lakehouse architectures.
- Proficiency in ETL/ELT tools (SSIS, Azure Data Factory) and SQL‑based databases.
- Hands‑on experience with big data and streaming technologies (Databricks, Spark, Kafka, etc.).
- Familiarity with BI tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or Looker.
- Working knowledge of data governance, security, and compliance frameworks.
- Experience using Jira or similar ticketing systems.
Bonus Experience Of The Data Engineer
- Experience with Guidewire Insurance Suite data models (Policy Center, Billing Center, Claim Center) preferred.
- Experience with Data Mesh architecture.
- Exposure to machine learning / MLOps.
- Azure Data Engineer certification.
