Job Title: Ophthalmic Technician - IRP
Department: Medicine | Ophthalmology-JM
PurposeProvides high quality, accurate and compassionate care to a diverse patient population. An Ophthalmic Technician displays high proficiency in taking patient histories and is highly organized to fully prepare the patient for the research appointment.
Minimum QualificationsHigh School diploma or equivalent. 1 year of experience as an Ophthalmic Technician or Ophthalmic Assistant. Certified Ophthalmic Assistant or Certified Ophthalmic Technician from Joint Commission on Allied Health Personnel in Ophthalmology preferred.
RequirementsMust work effectively with individuals and team. Knowledge of Ophthalmic terminology and testing required as directed. Evidence of organizational and problem-solving skills, and ability to manage multiple priorities. Demonstrative effectiveness in conveying information both in writing and verbally. Demonstrates an understanding of job responsibilities and uses appropriate knowledge and skills to effectively complete work. Must have high level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations.
Position continually requires demonstrated poise, tact and diplomacy. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected. Must be able to interact and communicate with individuals at all levels of the organization.
COT Certification preferred. Knowledge of Electronic Medical Records.
