About the Company:

Central Florida Communities, Inc. (CFC) has warm, welcoming, home-inspired facilities and programs for individuals with developmental disabilities in Orange, Brevard, Lake and Seminole counties.

CFC operates three 64-bed Intermediate Care Facilities for the Developmentally Disabled (ICF/DD’s):
Howell Branch Court, Lake View Court, and Washington Square. As a member of our staff, you will be a part of one of these living centers and provide vital around-the-clock care, which includes nursing and medical oversight, to our residents.

Purpose:

This position directly supports individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. It helps with everyday tasks such as ADL’s—including daily grooming, meal service, risk mitigation, and following any applicable behavioral management plans as defined by the resident’s individual needs. The DSP actively engages with individuals at all times and provides all necessary supports to meet their needs, including all direct care and service requirements.

The DSP follows the Active Treatment/Programming schedule.

A DSP identifies hazards or dangerous behaviors in the environment and takes immediate action to avoid, mitigate, or eliminate them, and reports hazardous conditions or unsafe behaviors. The DSP ensures the safety of self, residents/consumers, co‑workers, families, guardians, and visitors at all times.

Documentation responsibilities include implementing electronic and paper records of training needs, programming, incident reporting, data collection, and behavioral observations.

Required

Qualification:

High School Diploma or equivalent education is required.
Must be 18 years of age or older.

Preferred Qualifications:

Six months’ experience working with intellectual/developmental disability populations is preferred.
