Position
Purpose:
This role offers a unique opportunity to support the continuing development of this highly successful multi-product business. This role will offer the opportunity to learn about and assist with the daily Precious Metals operations within SFL, SXB, & SPM
Primary duties will include:
- Processing trade settlements:
- Currencies
- Precious Metals – Physical / Unallocated
- Daily & monthly reconciliations of external nostros / physical depositories
- Reconciliation of exchange traded futures statements from brokers
- Oversight and periodic review of all reconciliations and controls
- Support management with the regular review of all relevant procedures, ensuring they are detailed, accurate, and up to date
- Key point of contact for all support functions, including front office, operations, and risk
- Problem solving and resolution of position / P&L discrepancies etc.
- Margin Calls to Clients, intercompany & trading counterparts
- Managing trade confirmations with market counterparts
- Daily & monthly reconciliations of external nostros / physical depositories
- Monitoring daily cash / metal flows and managing funding requirements
- Intra-day trade / cash flow reconciliations
- Internal system reconciliations
- Confirming settlement figures with clients & trading counterparts
- Payment and allocation of Invoicing (Specifically Refineries & Carriers)
- Daily Invoicing:
All exports/imports - Confirming physical swap trade figures with refineries
- Quote & Premium requests Carriers / Refineries
- Shipment Log / manage out-turn adjustments
- Filing of each physical shipment
- Liaising with the FO / BO Precious Metals team globally
- Develop and maintain relationships with:
- Carriers
- Refineries
- Customers
- Ad hoc problem resolution as required
Job Requirements:
- Minimum three years’ experience working in a commodities / precious metal back office role
- Experience in shipping/logistics of physical precious metals
- Experience creating and maintaining operational procedures
- Understanding of trade flows & treasury management
- Must be learn quickly and keep up with fast paced change in business requirements
- Good work ethic and ability to work effectively in order to meet deadlines
- Attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong communication skills (written and oral)
- Effective planning, organization and time management skills
- Commercial awareness
- Ability to work effectively in a team

Working conditions:
- Climate controlled office environment
- Minimal physical requirements other than occasional light lifting of boxed materials
- Dynamic, time-sensitive environment
