A full-time faculty position at Trinity Prep consists of serving as an advisor, teaching 5 classes, and assuming additional duties as assigned. For example, all faculty are required to have a plus one responsibility.

Position Summary

Trinity Prep is seeking an experienced educator for a full-time learning specialist to provide support primarily for students with learning differences in grades 9 through 12, and promote academic success for all students in the Upper School.

Competitive candidates must have significant experience in the classroom and a commitment to student well-being and human development. They must demonstrate expertise in adolescent development and learning as well as experience working with children and families. The learning specialist has taken a leadership role in the education field and is proficient in curricula and instruction, effective practices for learning, and education.

This academic leader provides support and care for all students in the Upper School and works collaboratively with the Wellness Department staff (i.e. school nurse, counselors, and other learning specialists), faculty, department chairs, and administration to facilitate the implementation of the Trinity Prep curriculum.

Qualified candidates must have the ability to develop meaningful relationships with highly motivated students from diverse backgrounds. This learning specialist should plan to be an integral component of the students' lives, in and out of the classroom, and to collaborate with colleagues across divisions and serve as a member of the Wellness Department.

Duties And Responsibilities

As the Upper School Learning Specialist, you will:

  • Review and interpret all psycho-educational testing and other medical reports, and create an Individual Accommodation Plan for each student with a diagnosis in the Upper School, complete with long-term goals and specific objectives; also update accommodation/learning plans every three years, and update accommodation plans as needed for College Board and ACT applications for accommodations.
