Maintenance Technician

The Maintenance Technician installs, maintains, and repairs plant machinery and mechanical equipment to ensure continuous production.

Must be a U.S. Citizen, as this job is within a Secured Facility. Secret Level Clearance required.

• Performs all duties in a safe manner, abiding by Lock Out Tag Out and other safety programs.
• Perform preventive maintenance on manufacturing machinery and facility systems to reduce downtime.
• Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic issues on production equipment.
• Repair or replace components such as motors, sensors, belts, pumps, valves, and bearings.
• Read and interpret blueprints and schematics to diagnose and resolve equipment problems.
• Perform facility maintenance including basic electrical, lighting, plumbing, and general building upkeep.
• Conduct equipment inspections and document maintenance activities.
• Support production teams by responding quickly to breakdowns and providing technical guidance.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and promote safe work practices.
• Install and adjust new equipment
• Proficient with basic hand tools and can read a multi-meter.
• Industrial electrical troubleshooting (switches, fuses, electrical drawings) is a plus.

Work environment includes exposure to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, and toxic or caustic chemicals. The employee is occasionally exposed to high, precarious places; outside weather conditions; risk of electrical shock; and vibration. The noise level is usually moderate. While on duty, Protective Personal Equipment (PPE) provided for this position must be used.

• Physical requirements:
  
  lift 10 lbs regularly, 25 lbs frequently, and 50 lbs occasionally; requires full visual range.
• Physical activity: regular walking, hand use, reaching, talking, and hearing; frequent standing, stooping, kneeling, or crawling; occasional sitting, climbing, or balancing.
• Tool skills: proficient with mechanical and plumbing hand/power tools (drills, saws, pipe cutters/threaders, welding/cutting torches); certified to use mobile lifting equipment.
• Reading skills: able to understand safety rules, training materials, manuals, codes, SDS, and standard procedures.
• Math skills: able to calculate percentages, proportions, area, circumference, volume, and apply basic algebra and geometry.
• Problem‑solving able to handle practical issues with limited guidelines and interpret written, verbal, diagram, or schedule-based instructions.
• Communication: able to follow verbal instructions, write basic reports, and speak clearly to groups.
• Teamwork: understands group decision‑making and problem‑solving methods; works well in a team environment.

High school diploma or GED.
