Outside Business Development Representative – Contract Manufacturing

Winston-Salem, NC | Field-Based | Southeastern Territory

We’re partnering with a well-established industrial manufacturing organization seeking an experienced Outside Business Development Representative to drive new business growth within contract manufacturing, with a strong focus on machining and fabrication services.

This is a high-impact, field-based role for a proven hunter—someone who understands industrial manufacturing environments and enjoys building long-term customer relationships face-to-face.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Prospecting and developing new business within contract manufacturing services
  • Building and managing a sales pipeline across machining and fabrication customers
  • Conducting on-site visits, cold outreach, and relationship-based selling
  • Converting warm leads into active accounts while continuing to hunt new opportunities
  • Attending client meetings, networking events, and occasional trade shows
  • Collaborating closely with internal operations and estimating teams
  • Tracking activity, KPIs, and pipeline progress

What We’re Looking For

  • 3–5+ years of outside B2B sales or business development experience
  • Background in machining, fabrication, industrial manufacturing, or contract manufacturing strongly preferred
  • Proven ability to open doors and close new accounts
  • Comfortable managing a multi-state territory (NC, SC, Northern VA, TN, GA)
  • Self-motivated, organized, and professional in client-facing environments
  • $75,000 base salary (DOE)
  • Tiered commission structure tied to gross profit on new accounts
  • Company vehicle or mileage reimbursement
  • Company card for client-related expenses
