With moderate supervision, the Retail Keyholder assists the store management team in executing and supervising all store activities. They provide outstanding guest service experiences within a sales culture that utilizes elements of Game Stop s Circle of Life buy, sell, trade, and reservation business model. This position ensures products are easily accessible and purchasable, boosts sales by sharing product and gaming knowledge with guests, maintains a clean and organized shopping environment, and fosters guest loyalty and repeat business.

Responsibilities
  • Provide best-in-class guest service: greet guests, respond to questions/concerns promptly and courteously, assist guests in meeting their video gaming needs, inform guests about promotions and the trade-in program, recommend additional items as appropriate, apply selling behaviors during transactions, and thank guests for choosing Game Stop.
  • Support the shopping environment and nurture guest relationships that lead to sales and repeat business.
  • Process purchases and returns accurately via the POS system, ensuring top-notch guest service.
  • Address guest questions in person or on the phone; answer calls promptly and professionally.
  • Promote Game Stop’s guest benefits, such as new title reservations and the Pro Rewards loyalty program.
  • Keep store areas clean, organized, and merchandised according to guidelines; ensure fixtures and equipment are in working order.
  • Complete Omni-Channel orders daily.
  • Safeguard assets through inventory control and loss prevention; assist with bank deposits as required.
  • Conduct inventory counts, stock shelves, and move products from stock to selling floor; ensure items are represented and alphabetized.
  • Support management in meeting sales, profit, and shrink goals and complete required duties.
  • Balance daily transactions in the POS system; manage closeout paperwork and cash deposits per guidelines.
  • Check shipments for discrepancies and report issues to the Store Manager as needed.
  • Process defectives/recalls and stock pulls with proper labeling and packing lists.
  • Supervise and delegate tasks to Sales Associates in the absence of management.
  • Follow all store policies and procedures and complete opening/closing duties.
Qualifications
  • Must provide proof of identity and eligibility to work in the United States; at least 18 years old.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • At least 1 year of retail sales, guest service, and/or management experience preferred.
  • Video game knowledge preferred.
  • Ability to work alone, stand, and move throughout the store unassisted for up to 10 hours per day.

  • Exceptional guest service skills; genuine and friendly assistance to every guest.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and listening skills;
    English required; bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, changing environment; meet performance expectations including attendance and grooming.
  • Operate the POS system and complete required paperwork; basic math and alphabetizing skills.
  • Self-motivation; team player; problem-solving abilities; follow written/oral instructions.
  • Flexibility to work extended hours, including nights, weekends, and some holidays; minimum 3 days/week availability.
  • Physical ability to bend, reach, climb, lift up to 30 lbs, and stand for long periods.

Benefits and Compensation

Benefits:
Full-time store positions may be eligible for incentive programs, 401(k), paid time off, dental, vision, and health insurance. Compensation: $8.50 - $11.25 per hour.
