Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position requiring a NC or compact license and strong IV, triage, and telemetry skills.
Responsibilities- Work in a high-volume Emergency Department within a regional referral and tertiary care center
- Patient ratios range from 1:3 to 1:5 with approximately 250 visits per day and 101 beds
- Shift is 12-hour nights (19:00-07:00), three shifts per week
- Floating required between Emergency Observation Unit and Emergency Behavioral Health based on needs
- Minimum requirement of four weekend days per six-week schedule, with potential for every other weekend
- Utilizes EPIC for EMR, Pyxis medication system, and SBAR communication
- Assignment length is 13 weeks
- Regional center caring for all patient populations
- Daily shift huddles and a supportive team environment
- Unit orientation provided for 24 hours
- Navy and white scrubs required
- No blocked scheduling permitted
- RTO (requested time off) is not allowed after booking and must be managed prior to assignment
- Active NC or compact state RN license
- Minimum of two years Emergency Department RN experience
- Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS, and MOAB
- IV start, triage, and telemetry skills required
- EKG testing must be passed prior to start
- First-time travelers accepted
- TNCC certification preferred
