RN Ambulatory, Pediatrics Hematology/Oncology Part Time – Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist

Independently plans and provides professional nursing care for patients in ambulatory clinic settings in accordance with the medical and nursing plans of care and established policies and procedures. Delivers nursing services to patients and families in accordance with the scope of the RN as defined by the North Carolina Board of Nursing. Directs and leads other assigned team members and collaborates with multidisciplinary team members to provide age/developmentally appropriate care in accordance with nursing standards of care and practice.

• Provides patient/family centered care, partnering with patients and families to optimize health care while respecting culture, values, individual needs, health goals and treatment preferences
• Applies critical reasoning and clinical judgment to expedite appropriate care and treatment, including complex or potentially life-threatening conditions
• Facilitates continuity of care using the nursing process, multidisciplinary collaboration, and coordination of health care services across the care continuum
• Interacts with patients during face-to-face encounters or via telecommunication, often establishing long-term relationships
• Maintains professional responsibilities by adhering to the ANA Code of Ethics, pursuing professional development and lifelong learning
• Leads nursing services in the clinical setting, coordinating care delivery and delegating roles as appropriate
• Ensures compliance with federal/state regulations and institutional policies
• Participates in regular team meetings and quality improvement activities
• Maintains knowledge of care teams for coordination of patient care, self-management, population management and communication

Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing. BSN preferred. Two years of acute care experience required; preference for recent acute care experience within the last 10 years.

• Current RN license in the State of North Carolina
• Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) required
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) preferred
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) preferred
• Pediatric Emergency Assessment, Recognition and Stabilization (PEARS) may be required within one year in select areas
