The Structural Heart RN Coordinator manages patient care throughout the entire structural heart intervention pathway, ensuring quality, compliance, and seamless coordination across multidisciplinary teams.
Key Responsibilities- Serve as the primary point of contact for patients and families, providing education on procedures, risks, benefits, and recovery.
- Coordinate scheduling of diagnostic tests, consultations, and procedures.
- Collaborate with cardiologists, cardiac surgeons, imaging specialists, and anesthesia to review patient readiness and monitor pre‑ and post‑procedure care plans.
- Maintain accurate data for national registries (e.g., STS/ACC TVT Registry) and track outcomes for quality improvement initiatives.
- Assist in protocol development and ensure adherence to evidence‑based guidelines.
- Ensure compliance with CMS and institutional requirements for the structural heart program.
- Provide ongoing education to staff and patients regarding structural heart therapies.
Job Requirements
- Education
:
Bachelor's degree in Nursing required. - Certification / License>:
Current RN license in a state of employment and BLS certification required. - Work Experience
:
Five years of Heart and Vascular or related experience. - Knowledge / Skills / Abilities
:
Direct and indirect patient care, strong interpersonal and communication skills, organizational skills, basic computer literacy.
- Frequent patient contact and exposure to infectious diseases.
- Potential exposure to radiation hazards and cleaning agents/chemicals.
- Work in a high‑interrupt environment.
