Job Description: We are recruiting an HCT & Cellular Therapy Apheresis Registered Nurse for our Transplantation & Cellular Therapy team.
What You’ll Do- Educate and explain apheresis procedure and provide health teaching to patients and families.
- Perform apheresis procedures independently while following department/program policies and procedures, as well as regulatory requirements (e.g., FDA, FACT).
- Administer pre‑transplant conditioning chemotherapy regimens and pre‑CAR T lymphodepleting chemotherapy.
- Perform hematopoietic cell transplantation and cellular product infusions.
- Maintain and care for patient venous access used during apheresis procedures.
- Monitor patients daily post‑transplant and post‑CAR T.
- RN license in NC or a compact state.
- BLS & ACLS required.
- 1+ year apheresis experience collecting HPCs and MNCs preferred.
- BSN preferred; equivalent experience considered.
- ONCC OCN/BMTCN or ASCP QIA credential preferred or in progress.
- Chemotherapy‑Immunotherapy Certificate (ONS/ONCC) or equivalent required within 6 months of hire.
- Self‑starter.
- Organized and detail‑oriented.
- Interpersonal and communication skills, oral and written.
- Skills in patient education, teamwork and collaboration.
- Effective communication with patients, families, physicians, and the health care team.
- Ability to work with others to ensure quality patient care.
- Strong critical thinking skills.
- Desire to provide compassionate, holistic care.
- Ability to work independently without close supervision.
- Knowledge of HCT and cellular therapy processes including mobilization, apheresis, Spectra Optia® Apheresis System, HCT/cellular product infusion, CAR T therapies and complications, and FACT standards.
