This position is located at WOMACK Army Medical Center in Fort Liberty, NC. Named after Medal of Honor recipient PFC Bryant H. Womack, the 110‑bed medical center is fully accredited and serves Fort Bragg, the home of Airborne and Special Operations and the largest U.S. Army installation in the world. The facility also manages several primary care practice sites located in Fort Liberty, Fayetteville, Hope Mills, and Linden Oaks. Fort Liberty is a convenient location with access to major highways, recreational activities, and nearby universities.
Responsibilities- Provide leadership and direction to the neonatal critical care and newborn care services within the Department of Maternal Child Health and the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.
- Provide a wide range of direct patient care services within the evolving profession of the advanced practice Neonatal Nurse Practitioner.
- Lead and coordinate delivery of critical care to neonates, including assessing patient acuity.
- Manage neonatal emergencies, leading the resuscitation team in the acute stabilization and life‑saving management of critically ill neonates.
- Provide emergency interventional support in specialized therapeutic or diagnostic procedures for critically ill neonates.
- Coordinate interdisciplinary care by communicating with pediatric specialists and obstetric physicians regarding patient management and establishing care plans for patients.
- Provide counseling to families regarding anticipated needs for intervention and the prognosis of conditions of patients.
- US Citizenship required.
- Current, active, valid, unrestricted license, certificate, or authorization to practice as a Nurse Practitioner in a U.S. state, district of Columbia, commonwealth, territory, or jurisdiction.
- Degree or diploma from a professional nursing program approved by the legally designated state accrediting agency at the time the program was completed.
