Job SummaryUnder administrative review, responsible for the overall operations of an intensive outpatient chemical dependency treatment program.
Education/ExperienceMaster s degree in Psychology, Social Work, or a related field of study with four years experience in clinical substance abuse counseling and education required. Experience in research and education preferred.
Licensure, Certification, And/Or RegistrationCertified in counseling substance abuse patients (Licensed Clinical Addictions Specialist, Licensed Professional Counselor, or Licensed Clinical Social Worker).
Essential Functions- Functions as a clinician in the counseling of patients by conducting evening therapy sessions, and developing treatment plans. Obtains authorizations from managed care organizations to assure reimbursement.
- Coordinates and/or implements all operational policies and procedures related to the functioning of the program.
- Represents the program to all related managed care companies and organizations. Establishes external contacts where chemical dependency health education services are needed.
- Identifies, investigates and resolves client-related problems. Responsible for maintaining high clinical quality and outcomes of the program.
- Participates in departmental teaching and research activities as appropriate.
- Performs other related duties incidental to the work described herein.
Excellent oral and written communication skills. Strong computer skills including use of word processing and spreadsheet programs
